SUMMARY:Basic Sniper (2026)
DESCRIPTION:This training lays a solid educational and practical foundation for the new or veteran sniper looking to get back to the basics.  In five days\, we try to cover all the basics that a police sniper could encounter on their first callout\, as if it were scheduled to happen on Friday after graduation.  The focus of this training is on operational tactics such as field-craft\, observation\, reporting\, range estimation\, urban tactics\, and marksmanship skills with emphasis on the cold bore shot.  Other areas of instruction include policy and equipment recommendations\, the mechanics of the rifle and scope\, ballistics\, the data book\, hostage rescue engagements\, intermediate barriers\, night fire\, positional shooting\, and moving targets.  All graduates will have demonstrated proficiency at ranges of 5 to 800 yards. Registration:  You will need to return this registration form along with a letter from your supervisor on department letterhead stating that they support your entrance into this class.  REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 9\, 2026. Course Fee is $8.00 which includes course book. DESCRIPTION:The advanced SWAT training will cover a variety of topics but will focus a lot of time on weapons safety\, weapons manipulation\, and range time.  This course will also cover various clearing techniques with your primary weapons platform\, down officer recovery\, and hostage rescue.  At the conclusion of this course students will have a better understanding and more confidence of their weapons and their shooting abilities.  Students will also improve and enhance their moving techniques and have a better understanding of overall SWAT missions. DESCRIPTION:Provides instruction on the laws and the organizations responsible for the regulation of the transportation of hazardous materials (HM). This course is designed to train personnel to inspect HM shipments for compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations\, either on the roadside or at a carrier’s or shipper’s place of business. Participants are given opportunities to practice the job functions related to the regulation of HM.\nObjective: Upon completion of this course\, participants will understand the operational use of the Hazardous Materials Table (§172.01) as well as shipping paper and placarding requirements. They will also be introduced to FMCSA/CVSA Hazardous Materials Out-of-Service criteria.\nClass fees are waved\, and enrollment is pending MCSAP approval.\nNOTE: This class is open to LAW ENFORCEMENT agencies ONLY.  This class is NOT available for members of the public\, trucking industry or other private sectors.  Students MUST be a current CVSA certified Level 1\, 2\, or 5 inspector\, attached to a law enforcement agency\, with approval from their state point of contact to attend.\nPhysical Requirements: Must be able to bend\, stoop\, kneel\, squat\, climb and may have exposure to hazardous materials. \nRegister for this class

DESCRIPTION:The SWAT basic training is designed to give new operators the confidence and knowledge to start their SWAT career.  It will teach a multitude of topics to include multiple clearing techniques (2×2\, deliberate entry\, breach and hold\, contain and callout\, dynamic entry etc.) SWAT equipment and use\, mindset\, communication\, high risk warrant service\, barricaded subjects\, hostage rescue\, active countermeasures\, range drills\, inner perimeter\, emergency response team\, large structure clearing\, less lethal use\, and vehicle deployment techniques.  The course will also go over different breaching techniques\, specialty equipment\, K9 integration\, and negotiators.  Simulations will be integrated into the SWAT training curriculum to provide a realistic training experience.    REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 5\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:This intense one-day course is designed for veterans and newcomers alike. It focuses on the relationship between traffic enforcement\, DWI\, and criminal enforcement. Specific techniques are covered to assist officers in detecting criminal activity during other traffic-related activities.  Students will receive extensive instruction in roadside interviews and hidden compartments to include those vehicles equipped with after-market installed false compartments. \nThe core course modules include: \n\nIndicators and Detection Methods\nLegal Considerations\nRoadside Interview Techniques\nPassenger Vehicle Concealment Locations\nOfficer Safety\n\nRegister for this class
