SUMMARY:Basic Crisis Negotiation
DESCRIPTION:This is a 40-hour course taught by the KHP Crisis Negotiation Team. The training will provide a history of crisis negotiation\, instruction to crisis/hostage negotiation\, and the basics of negotiation. Students will be introduced to developing active listening skills through different exercises\, provide instruction on intelligence gathering and the use of technology\, mental health issues and suicide prevention\, communication skills\, and the psychology of negotiators. Course will include discussion of legal issues and courtroom testimony along with scenarios integrating technology. \nPhysical Requirements: This course has no physical requirements. \nCost: This training has no course fee. \nAccommodations: Lodging and meals will need to be coordinated by the student’s agency as accommodations will not be provided during this training. \nCourse Location: This course will be held at the Troop F Headquarters. \nRegister for this class
