Continuing Education

This course will train inspection personnel to inspect cargo tank motor vehicles transporting hazardous materials (HM) for compliance with Hazardous Material Regulations at the weigh/inspection station or a carrier’s or shipper’s place of business. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to carry out HM field activities in a manner that complements national HM program goals in that specialized area. NOTE: This class is open to LAW ENFORCEMENT agencies ONLY. This class is NOT available for members of the public, trucking industry or other private sectors. Students MUST be a current CVSA certified Level 1, 2, or 5 inspector and general hazardous materials inspector, attached to a law enforcement agency, and obtain approval from their state point of contact to attend prior to registering. Cost and Accommodations: Meals and lodging are available at the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy with no cost pending the approval of MCSAP. Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb and may have exposure to hazardous materials Disclaimer: This course is subject to cancellation in the event enrollment numbers are low.
