This training lays a solid educational and practical foundation for the new or veteran sniper looking to get back to the basics.  In five days, we try to cover all the basics that a police sniper could encounter on their first callout, as if it were scheduled to happen on Friday after graduation.  The focus of this training is on operational tactics such as field-craft, observation, reporting, range estimation, urban tactics, and marksmanship skills with emphasis on the cold bore shot.  Other areas of instruction include policy and equipment recommendations, the mechanics of the rifle and scope, ballistics, the data book, hostage rescue engagements, intermediate barriers, night fire, positional shooting, and moving targets.  All graduates will have demonstrated proficiency at ranges of 5 to 800 yards. Registration:  You will need to return this registration form along with a letter from your supervisor on department letterhead stating that they support your entrance into this class.  REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 9, 2026. Course Fee is $8.00 which includes course book. Physical Requirements: This training is considered a high-risk firearms training.  Student must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, low crawl and some sprinting or running may be required.  Training is conducted in all weather conditions.  Student must be prepared physically and properly equipped.
