Troop G – Turnpike

Headquartered in Wichita, Troop G patrols the Turnpike 24 hours a day. While covering the 236.6 miles and 11 counties between the Oklahoma border south of Wellington and Kansas City, Troop G also provides security at service areas and performs special projects for the Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA), which contracts with the Patrol for Troop G’s services.

Troop G has its own communications center, which communicates directly with troopers and KTA maintenance personnel. The communications center is also responsible for reporting weather conditions, posting messages on the dynamic message signs, and monitoring security systems.
