Location: Topeka/Shawnee County
Position Description:
Processes a large volume of payment vouchers, within a 1-2 day turn around, through the Statewide Management, Accounting, and Reporting Tool (SMART) system to vendors for expenses associated with 500+ patrol vehicles and aircraft, such as repairs, parts, fuel, annual vehicle registration, and vehicle insurance. Processes payments for goods and services for the agency such as utilities, lease contracts, contractual services, commodities, and various other miscellaneous billings. The process includes ensuring receipts of goods and services prior to payment and the identification and resolution of billing discrepancies. Works closely with KHP purchasing staff to quickly resolve problems and ensure prompt payment of invoices.
Updates and maintains the Annual PO tracker with monthly payments and makes recommendations for PO changes. Continually looks ahead making projections for the current and following fiscal year encumbrance balances.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of SMART system (PeopleSoft).
Minimum Requirements:
One year of experience in professional accounting/auditing work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
