Motor Carrier Inspectors (MCIs) conduct thousands of inspections annually at fixed scale houses to ensure compliance with state laws and federal regulations for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles.
Motor Carrier Inspectors enforce:
- State statutes governing size and weight of vehicles
- Commercial motor vehicle registration laws
- Commercial vehicle requirements of the Kansas Corporation Commission including placards, log books, medical cards, and seat belt requirements.
- Liquid fuel carriers tax laws
- Livestock inspection laws
- Testify in court
