No. Please remain in your vehicle upon arrival. You will be approached by the first-available VIN Inspector. Inspection stations operated by a partner, such as a Police or Sheriff's department may have different hours of operation and/or social distancing procedures. We recommend you call your local VIN inspection station to confirm inspection time.
It is not legal to drive a car without a permit or license plate. You can place your vehicle on a trailer and tow it to the inspection station, or you may be able to purchase a temporary registration/permit from your County Treasurer.
No. You will need to make arrangements to have your vehicle towed or trailered to the nearest VIN inspection station. House calls are conducted on rare occasions at the convenience of the Kansas Highway Patrol and require a supervisor's approval.
