Trooper upon graduation from the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy
- 0-3 years in Rank: $32.78/Hour
- 4-5 years in Rank: $34.42/Hour
Trooper – Currently certified Law Enforcement transitioning to Trooper and in good standing with CPOST
- 0-3 years in Rank: $33.55/Hour
- 4-5 years in Rank: $35.25/Hour
Capitol Area Guard I
Hourly – $16.16/Hour
Communications Specialist I
Hourly – $25.05/Hour
Promotions
After 5 years, Troopers are eligible for promotion to Master Trooper and receive an accompanying salary increase.
- 0-3 years in rank: $37.95
- 4-5 years in rank: $39.84
- 6-8 years in rank: $41.81
- 9-10 years in rank: $43.91
- 11-13 years in rank: $46.14
Capitol Area Guards
Capitol Area Guards I is eligible for promotion to Capitol Area Guard II and will receive an accompanying salary increase. A Capitol Area Guard I is required to have a minimum of 6 months of experience to be eligible for Capitol Area Guard II.
Communication Specialists
Communication Specialist I is eligible for promotion to Communication Specialist II after 2 years of service and will receive an accompanying salary increase. With additional years of service, promotions may become available for promotion to Communications Specialist Supervisor.
