Cadet Law Academy Application

The Cadet Law Academy is a youth program sponsored by the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Kansas American Legion, and the Kansas American Legion Auxiliary.

How to Apply

Fill out the application

Secure your spot by turning in your application as soon as possible.
Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2026.
Deadline extended to April 30, 2026

Get Permission

Permission by signature must be granted by:

  1. Parent or Guardian
  2. High School or Home School representative such as Counselor, Principal or Teacher

Applications without signatures will not be accepted. 

Include a High School Transcript

Applicants must be a high school junior or senior with a “C” average and be physically able to participate in all of the activities in the week-long Academy.

Include a Sports Physical

A sports physical from within the last calendar year clearing the student for rigorous physical activity should be turned in with the competed application. If the student is unable to obtain a sports physical, email Cadetlaw@ks.gov to find out options.
