What is a Designee Partner VIN Inspection Station?

A Designee VIN Inspection location is operated by a law enforcement partner and can perform regular (non-salvage) and antique vehicle inspections. Inspections performed at a designee location, such as a Sheriff’s office, will collect payment at the time of inspection. The form of payment accepted, and hours of operation are up to the designee.

What are your hours of operation?

VIN Inspection Stations operated by the Kansas Highway Patrol are open Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-3:15 PM and closed on State holidays. Inclement weather, such as major winter storms, may affect hours of operation. The following high-volume locations operate on an appointment only basis. Kansas City metro (Olathe, Lamar and I-70) Wichita metro (Douglas and Kechi)

No. Please remain in your vehicle upon arrival. You will be approached by the first-available VIN Inspector. Inspection stations operated by a partner, such as a Police or Sheriff's department may have different hours of operation and/or social distancing procedures.
